Sir William Jone, formed, on the 15th January, 1784 the Asiatic Society, an institution for enquiring among many other things, into the History ........ the Antiquities, Arts, Sciences and Literatures of Greater India.

150 Years Celebrations

The Hyderabad Circle along with the Science Division ,Hyderabad celebrated the inaugural of 150th Anniversary of Archaeological Survey of India on 26-03-2012, at Ravindra Bharati Auditorium, Hyderabad along. Shri E.S.L. Narasimhan,His Excellency, Governor of Andhra Pradesh graced the function as the Chief Guest and Smt Chandana Khan Principal Secretary YAT & Culture Government of A.P. was Guest of Honour. Eminent Scholars and retired ASI officials were felicitated on the occasion. His Excellency has launched the official web site of Hyderabad Circle and a booklet 'Guide Book of Centrally protected Monuments of Hyderabad Circle' is released.
